the discovery of evidence for neutrino oscillations at SNO.

The prize was awarded jointly to  Takaaki Kajita and Arthur B McDonald.

Professor McDonald from Queen's University, Kingston, ON, Canada was Director of SNO

What has Molly-ki-Ma got to do with Nobel Prize and Breakthrough Prize?

While visiting Halifax NS, Canada in 1977, when Molly-ki-Ma encouraged her first daughter to get married, little did she realize that her future son-in-law will be a founding member of a US$250 million Nobel prize-winning team,.She only wanted her magnetic business associate to move on in life before it is too late to bring forth grandchildren into their expanding business family. The rest of the story is a wild dream come true for both of them. The belief of Molly-ki-Ma in higher education for securing a better future in life, made her to want, encourage, and support her children's higher education at her own expense. That vision led to the legacy of Molly-ki-Ma which is valued the world over in every family which values education, especially the education of female children.

What is Nobel Prize?

"Noble prize has been honouring men and women from all corners of the globe for outstanding achievements in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, and for work in peace." It was the world famous legacy of  Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite.

What was Nobel Prize in Physics 2015 awarded for?

"for the discovery of neutrino oscillations, which shows that neutrinos have mass"

Did you know a Trinidadian who won a Nobel Prize in Literature?

The Nobel Prize in Literature 2001 was awarded to V.S. Naipaul of Trinidad "for having united perceptive narrative and incorruptible scrutiny in works that compel us to see the presence of suppressed histories."

What is Breakthrough Prize?

"Knowledge is humanity's greatest asset. It defines our nature, and it will shape our future ..."

Breakthrough prizes are awarded in Fundamental Physics, Life Sciences and Mathematics

What was 2016 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics awarded for?

"awarded to five experiments investigating neutrino oscillation ..."

Breakthrough prize for SNO

Pillalamarri Jagam, PhD

Senior Technical and Scientific Director Since 2012 at Molly-ki-Ma

Did Molly-ki-Ma have any social interaction with SNO?

Molly-ki-Ma's magnetic associate founder was at a poolside party with Prof Art Mcdonald in 2002 at his home in Kingston, ON, Canada, in addition to visiting several times to Sudbury, ON and Kingston, ON.

Mrs. Molly Ramcharitar - A skilled salesperson, a magnetic business associate of our Founder, and a successful investor

Founder
Founder

Early Life

As a first-born child of seven children of our founder, Molly Ramcharitar proved to be a leader. She helped her mother in business from a very young age, while staying at home caring for the newborn sibling every time over twenty years. She grew up with an interest in early childhood education and helped her siblings successfully complete high school. She also helped her second brother and three of her youngest siblings to go to University.

In Business

Molly was a skilled salesperson and a talented interior decorator. As a magnetic business associate, she helped our founder expand their business by leaps and bounds and earned a name for herself in the retail business. She brought prosperity and wealth to her family. Her mother was affectionately called in the community as "Molly-ki-Ma" (Molly's mother in the Hindi Language) as a testimony to Molly's magnetic personality from a very young age.

Education and marriage

Soon after her youngest sibling entered junior secondary school, Molly got permission from our Founder to pursue higher education. She received a B.A degree in History from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, NS, Canada,  and a B.A (Honours) degree from Dalhousie University, also in Halifax.

She married Dr Pillalamarri Jagam at Halifax soon after she graduated from Dalhousie University. Shortly after her marriage, she did her M.A degree in English Language and Literature at University of Guelph, Guelph, ON, Canada and settled in Guelph to raise her family.

Successful Investor

Molly returned to Trinidad many times during the next ten years to help her mother in business and participated in the design and construction of a 10,000 sft three-story commercial/residential building for their expanding business. Her love for Trinidad has exemplified the tagline "Together we aspire and together we achieve."

At Guelph, Molly became interested in the residential real estate rental business as an investor. In partnership with her husband, she owned and operated several residential properties with considerable success.

Molly was also an avid gardener. The variety of flowering plants she cultivated in her perennial home garden at Guelph is an outstanding testimony to her interest and skills in gardening.

Legacy

Her enduring legacy in business, at home and in early childhood education with "Molly-ki-Ma" is a cornerstone for the next generation of entrepreneurs at Molly-ki-Ma Properties Management Limited.

A Trini in Body, Mind and Spirit

Molly's love of Trinidad

The tagline on the Tshirt  (shown at the right) she used to wear epitomizes her love for Trinidad:

"When I die and heaven doesn't want me,

Take me straight to Trinidad"

Her famous saying is:

"Aim for the stars so you may fall on the treetops."

"Together we aspire, together we achieve"

(National motto of Trinidad and Tobago")

Noteworthy accomplishment

True to her national motto and her famous saying quoted above,

the tireless and sincere support Molly extended to her husband

resulted in the award of a Nobel prize in Physics in 2015, and also

the Breakthrough Prize 2016 Fundamental Particle Physics for discovery in Particle Physics.

International Women's Day - March 8

Countries around the world celebrate International women's Day on March 8.

The Day not only recognizes the achievements of women and their contributions to the world, but also brings awareness to the obstacles that still stand in their way the world over, regardless of race, religion or creed.

The Day was officially recognized by the United Nations Organization in 1977.

The Celebration of the Day is credited to labour movements across North America and Europe iin early 1900s.

The first International Women's Day was celebrated by women's movement in Russia on March 8, 1913.

Countries all over the world started using March 8 after the Second World War as a marker for advocating women's equality.
